Nope I am not a warehouse distribution manager, just someone who works from home, with a husband, who when not travelling also works from home. Today I planned to edit the images from Saturday’s portrait session, so after the school run, answering emails, catching up on Facebook etc, I thought I would get down to work. The call for more coffee came first, and then the a quick phone call to my Mum (never really quick, the phone died after 22 minutes, the call was finished on the mobile!). I then provided a traffic update for Mr G who was stuck on some motorway and not getting anyway fast, with these tasks complete, I think right lets get down to work, however a bit more distraction, Mum is going to France for the first couple weeks of the summer holidays – can I get a cheap flight to visit them? It would appear yes, oo I think to myself that would be lovely, a few days with the gang in France, wine, good food, lovely jubley! Still, this is not getting the editing done, nor is writing a blog and trying to be good about keeping it updated! Opps I have digressed again! About to start on the aforementioned editing, when , bless him, Mr G calls, “I haven’t got some equipment I need for tomorrow with me!” Yes I can get it ship, yes no problem, yes I am wonderful, yes you are very lucky to have me. Well it is not a straight forward thing this goods out business, first measure said box, weight it, visit appropriate website, look at all the options, collect today – yes, deliver tomorrow, yes, pay – yes, print labels, stick labels to box, secure box, wait for man. Door bell goes ten minutes after all of this, its a man with a van fab I think to myself, downstairs I go, no its goods in and not for me (I know I like to shop online but there has been a lot less of in with the new just recently). So back up I go to my workspace, just about settle down to the editing when the door bell goes again – good exercise this running up and down stairs, another man in a van, can you take a parcel in for next door. Back up I go to the editing, which to be truthful is looking so unlikely to get done today, get lightroom open, start flagging possibles when yes the door bell rings again, more goods in. So you see lots of goods in but no goods out.
